double exposure paintings

Holy crapola! Inside my head there’s a standing ovation going nuts for this artist. Did you think this was a photo? I did! I was actually kinda curious as to how the photographer got the brush-like texture in her image. Turns out it’s oil on canvas! *plop* head just exploded.

Pakayla Biehn has taken us by surprise with her magical Double Exposure paintings. In this series, Pakayla combines two current trends: floral patterns and the rebirth of analog photography. No wonder why we all dropped our jaws, right?

For this post I added some of my favorites from her collection but please, don’t let this stop you from visiting her wonderful site which has many other amazing paintings.

Oh and if you like these type of work, you should definitely check out this post and this one – both filled with double exposure beauty.
