June 26, 2012 / art

claudio parentela

There’s just something about collages I cannot resist – the color, the shapes – the fact that you can take someone’s face and turn it into a bizarre object that holds a whole new meaning.

Claudio Parentela (be warned, the site is quite flashy!) – an Italian cartoonist, illustrator, photographer, freelance journalist and collagist (holy shit, I feel useless) –  surely understands the power of collage and creates his own work using different magazine clips, pencils, pens and paint; a total ode to mixed media and color. I think there’s even a little bit of cubism and hot couture happening. Bravo!

What about you? What’s your favorite medium? Let me know on the comments.

Thanks so much for submitting your work, Claudio!
