a rug made from 550,000 cigarettes

Nicotine, anyone?

Chinese artist Xu Bing took a creative spin on a smokey habit (admit it, it’s a stinky habit) and created a tiger skin rug made entirely out of cigarettes! Quite impressive isn’t it? The rug was created in part to showcase the deadly seduction of such a dangerous and addictive product.

At the end of the exhibition, the museum closed its doors and lit all the cigarettes at once so attendees could hot box like there’s no tomorrow. Ok, I totally made that up, but can you imagine if that actually happened? Thank god they were only being used as art!
